I have been asked to participate in the Best of British, the summertime showcase exhibition at RHS Garden Harlow Carr, highlighting some of the best makers and artists from the British Isles.

The event will be held within the Bath House at RHS Harlow Carr, Harrogate from Thursday 10th August until Wednesday 13th September.

There are over 30 independent artists and makers exhibiting, including:

Alison Wren Ceramics

Alison makes wheel-thrown decorative and functional stoneware in simple, elegant forms with a subdued and gentle colour palette.

Caroline Brogden Jewellery

Caroline is an established jeweller based in Yorkshire with a passion for coastal life. Her current focus is a collection of collaborative work with Jay Burnett a Scottish Surfboard shaper. Caroline is using the waste resin ‘Surfite’ produced during the manufacture of the surfboards and combining this with accents of Silver to produce beautiful one of a kind pieces of jewellery.

Sarah Westwood Illustrator

Sprocket the dog has developed from a real life dog that Sarah adored. She started drawing Sprocket in 2015 initially as a 100 day project but enjoyed the process so much that six years later she has developed a range of greeting cards, coasters, tea towels, notebooks and placemats.

BEAM

Amy is driven by a strong commitment to providing natural luxury body care products that prioritize both quality and harm-free ingredients.  She is proud to offer beautiful products that capture the senses and elevate daily bathing and skincare routines.

Clare Buchanan Textiles

Clare is a Constructed Textile Designer who works with knitted and woven textiles. She loves to create bright, vibrant fabrics.

Wild Grey Art

Sarah McKenzie and Helen Knaggs developed Wild Grey Art after a move to the seaside inspired them to create freestanding mini sculptures and wall art from wire and driftwood. Their love of beach combing, flora, fauna and nature in general, inspires their creativity, which is reflected in their work.

Charlotte Morrison

Charlotte, a ceramicist who's been working for over 10 years from her home in the Yorkshire Dales, makes hand built ceramics using porcelain and stoneware clays, to create both functional and decorative items.

Her inspiration comes from items she collects, nature, and the landscape around her.
